About

Ayesha

I am sixteen years old, and I think about law and politics the way other people think about music — constantly, seriously, and with a feeling that it actually matters. This website is where I put that thinking to work.

About This Site

Fathom & Flight is one home for my work — a place where ideas get space to develop properly, rather than being compressed into a caption or a comment thread. It is designed to be read, not just scrolled.

You will find essays here on law and politics, including pieces written for Legal Studies, as well as more personal writing: poems, musings, book and film reviews, and photography. Later this year I will also be adding a podcast.

I try to write the way I think — with care, with curiosity, and without pretending things are simpler than they are.

Beyond the Writing

When I am not writing, I am usually reading, taking photographs, watching films, or playing drums. Music has always been part of how I process the world — I find rhythm in argument the same way I find it in a song. Law, for me, is not just a subject: it is a way of understanding how power works, who it serves, and how it can be challenged.

This site sits at the intersection of all of it.

Who This Is For

If you are a teacher, a mentor, a reader curious about law and politics, someone from a college admissions team, or simply a friend or family member who wants to see what I have been working on — this site is for you too. I have tried to make it a place that takes both the writing and the reader seriously.
